And you think *I* am distractable: short, funny! (Link from dmnsqrl.)
In response to the Supreme Court's ruling on eminent domain, some people want to use eminent domain to build a hotel on Justice Souter's home. I love it! The proposed development, called "The Lost ( Read more... )

You wrote "African peanut stew" and didn't give a recipe! I guess that's expecting too much.

I actually have the recipe in an LJ post and intended to link it, but memories are currently down. I'll check back later, or if you notice memories working before I do, it's in my "food" section.

To be a completist, here's what I did for the lentils: heat oil in skillet and add one large red onion (diced), 3-4 cloves garlic (minced), one medium red pepper (diced), and a little fresh ginger (minced). Cook a while until fairly limp, then add about 1-1.5 cups veggies (I used a mix of broccoli, carrots, green beans, and water chestnuts) and cook for a while. Add 16oz can lentils [1] and a curry powder to taste, and simmer until down, stirring occasionally.

[1] I knew I would be in a hurry; normally I cook lentils staring from the dry ones.

Minutes after I posted, it occurred to me that you had given the recipe before- thanks for doing it again.

Here it is. Memories are still broken, but belatedly I realzied that I'd actually gone back and tagged this one so I was able to find it that way. (I've been trying to tag the entries I saved in memories, as those are the ones I'm most likely to want to find later.)

Oh, and yes, use sweet potatoes rather than yams if you can.

There is little love lost between me and Justice Souter, but this particular action strikes me as a bill of attainder, which the Constitution explicitly prohibits. As a protest, though, it works. :-)

I think it's a protest; I don't see them raising enough capital to actually be able to do it.

Oh it's absolutely a protest, but the guy's also serious about doing all he can to follow through. I for one, hope he raises the capital and gets the votes to do it. Just desserts. :)
