Oh, I love The Last Unicorn.
I've not read any of the Kushiel books, but I do like Carey's writing. Banewreaker and Godslayer were excellent.

I do enjoy Banewreaker and Godslayer for their study of the other side of the stereotypical good vs. evil story.
Kushiel's Dart and the two immediate sequels are masterpieces, though.

Foucault's Pendulum, by Umberto Eco.
It is evocative, smart, witty, complex, unnerving, brilliant, maddening, and so very misunderstood. I love that I can tell so much about a person by their reaction to it. (Which is why I give virtually everyone I meet a copy of the book!)

Err... Even if I was a big reader, chances are my favorites wouldn't be very good. I tend to lean towards crappy stuff as far as public opinion. xD
