[Writing] Bad internet.

Sep 27, 2008 13:30

Dear Self,

Do not let the shine of the sparkling internet distract you. Its promise is shallow and without substance.

Instead, look to the open Word file you have, and the creative wonderment within. Write! Write until it is finished, and then you may surf the promising waves of the information sea.

Sincerely,

Me, Myself, and I.

I find, and YMMV, that when I'm too distracted to write the best thing to do is take a notebook on a really long walk. Walking gets the words flowing in my head, and then when I sit down for a rest the notebook is there to catch them. Plus if I ever stall out I can just get up and walk somewhere else.

YMMV?

When I wrote this post, I was at work. Not much of a chance to get out and go walking with a notebook. SIGH.

Goodidea, though, maybe I'll try it on my day off.

Your Mileage May Vary. Why does nobody know that phrase anymore? xD

PS to Self: Stop goofing off on the internet. We mean it!

Me, Myself, I and the annoyed Muse sitting in the corner.

Yes I'm guilty too. *facepalm*

I can see that. ;o)

The internet... so shiny and good, and yet so evil at the same time.
