Looks REALLY good!

Steel cut oats are wonderful. Great flavor, McCann's are my favorite. And can be microwaved a lot quicker than boiling, if for a quick breakfast.

Ah always use oats to soak up the juice in my apple pies... or millet.

My little-old-lady landlady years ago said my WW-pumpernickle-fresh apple-gooseberry millet pie was good enough for the county fair. Old German-american lady went for the pumpernickle. She had given me the gooseberries, she knew where thye grew wild.

Now THEY have an interesting flavor! Kinda smokey and poopey... You're a mom, you know what i mean.

*laughs* Yes. I can imagine it.

Oats are just great to throw into anything with how they soak up juice and flavor.

I love steel cut oats, but had never considered cooking them in the crock pot.

That would save so much time. Thanks for posting about it!

You're welcome! You can find a lot of variations on crock pot steel cut oats, too. I've also done a version with cocoa that tasted great, but it's not exactly photogenic to share on the blog!
