I was going to post on other subjects today, and then I saw stacia_kane posted about a recent incident online where some jerk emailed self-published authors under the guise that they were Jodi Reamer at Writers House, and offered them representation. What a lousy thing to do.

I'm just back from two exhausting weeks working with a lady who obviously had a psychiatric problem--a person who could say the most horrible things and behave in the most horrible way, and not think for a minute about what this was doing to people around her. I realised how damaging it is to be the civilised person who has to confront people without the least bit of empathy. You feel defenceless. It's terrible.

I feel so sorry for these writers, I hope it never happens to them again!

I really hope these writers don't give up because of this cruel prank. Rejection is bad enough, but to think you've achieved your dreams and find it's a joke? It sickens me.
