Um, Does Baking those Chocolate Chip Cookies From A Package Count? ext_277016 October 6 2010, 15:43:30 UTC
So, I don't have a favorite cookie recipe that I prepare from scratch. But I DO open the package and eat the cookie dough. Sometimes, I even get around to cooking them. That still works for a cookie exchange, right?

And yay for you and your story! Sounds like a tale I'd like to gobble. But I'll nibble instead, to enjoy every minute of reading pleasure!

Cathy, you crack me up! Yes, this works just fine for the exchange. Do you have any brand recommendations for your favorite dough?

I'm a little partial to Pillsbury. But that could just be because he's so darn cute!

Swap Food Tales...and Lavendar Cookie Recipe ext_278128 October 7 2010, 18:00:58 UTC
Hi Beth,
In celebration I am sharing a recipe for Lavendar Cookies and also inviting everyone over to my blog to share their favorite food stories http://rcponders.wordpress.com/2010/10/07/pie-toss/
Lavendar Cookies go great with tea:)
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup softened butter
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 egg
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp dried lavendar leaves
granulated sugar

Mix powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, almond extract and egg. Stir in remaining ingredients except granulated sugar. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Heat oven to 375. Grease cookie sheet lightly. Roll dough and cut into desire shapes as you would any cookie recipe. Sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake 7 or 8 minutes or until edges are light brown.

I love lavender but I have never baked with it. This sounds so good. I haven't had the chance to use almond extract in a while...

I think this blog promotion will make me gain ten pounds. There hasn't been a bad recipe yet!
