[Ammy stands on the wreckage of the Crucible, smoke wafting about her from three of her cherry bombs going off at once. Colorful squares of paper are caught in the wind, but Ammy just stares at the unblemished metal. She's been standing there for some time, trying every technique she had including her own claws, but nothing's put so much as a ( Read more... )

You're welcome-kamo!

That's very interesting-kamo!

It's hard sometimes, but it's really rewarding!

[That speech quirk of Haruka's is rather odd, but Ammy's tail wags. She's still hurting from the whatever-it-was that she ate, but is trying to hide it.]

Is that so? What do you train them for?

Competitive battling is what most people do, like my father who is a Gym Leader and people come from all over to challenge him, besides the people who keep them as pets, but me- I'm a Pokemon Coordinator, and I train them for Pokemon Contests-kamo!

They focus more on the beauty of well-executed attacks rather than just brute strength. There's an Appeal round where we show off our Pokemon's beauty as they do perform coordinated moves-kamo. Then, if you make it to the Battle round, you'll get to face off against the other Coordinators who made the cut, and by elimination, they choose who wins the Ribbon of this particular Contest-kamo!

Five Ribbons are required to enter the Grand Festival, which takes place once every summer. I've participated in them twice-kamo!

[Her eyes cross a little and for a moment Ammy looks a little overwhelmed.]

You fight them? ...Isn't that bad for them? Don't they get hurt?

Ahh, that is very impressive.

[takes notice]

Sorry, I guess I got a little carried away, huh?

No, responsible Pokemon Trainers take VERY good care of their Pokemon-kamo.

We always take them to Pokemon Centers for treatment immediately after they faint and know when it's better to withdraw-kamo. And after they're healed, they're back to fighting fit!

No, it is good that you have something that you are so enthusiastic about.

Ah, that is good. It would be awful if the animals were hurt because of this.

It sounds rather stressful.

Hehe, thanks-kamo! What do you enjoy doing?

Of course.

I can't argue with that, but it's very fulfilling too-kamo.

I like painting, and sleeping, and eating good food. I also enjoy running and going to festivals.

It is good to know that you have found something you enjoy so much.

Oh, wow, we have so much in common-kamo! I love eating good food. That's part of the reason why I love travelling so much! Seeing new places and trying new food-kamo!

Hehe, thanks-kamo!

Ah~! I know! There were so many new foods that I had never heard of before waking up on the Crucible, I could not believe it. I rather miss it, actually.
