Kitty happens to be stretched out on one of the couches of the Inn, feet kicked up in the air behind her and a pencil balanced between her lips. She's been working on her Physics homework for the year. Professor Xavier is allowing her to take the highest level and even that is just too simple. She's nearly got the whole year's worth done and they' ( Read more... )

There is an Eight. A very excitable, bouncy Eight.

"Kitty!" He plops down across from her, grinning like a cat who got into the cream.

"I need your help."

Instantly he reaches for the tea, holding it close so that the other might have a drink before any other thoughts might cross his mind.

"W have a present for you," he informs with a bright smile. "But first have tea, that way you aren't so grumpy and wind up scaring Kitty away."

Stretching, the younger Doctor finally sits up, much to his great dislike. He's staring at the other male, showing that he isn't happy to be awake at all.

However, the tea is warmly welcomed and he's sipping at it immediately. "Kitty?" He tilts his head to one side, "Is this the girl you've been wanting me to meet?"

Kitty smiles up at the blond, almost a little nervously, and moves to sit next to the bed, but as close to Eight as she can get.

As soon as the girl is near, Eight has wrapped his arms around her and nods. "This would be her!"

He's resisting the urge to pester Five to hurry up again, knowing that it's crucial that the younger Doctor be allowed to enjoy his tea before he emerges from the room, that way he'll be much more receptive to their decorations.

Or at least, this is what he hopes.

"How's the tea," he questions bouncing just a little. "I can get more if you'd like."

Really, don't mind him, he's just excited.

Kitty giggles when Eight hugs her and she returns the hug, beaming. Looking up to Five, her smile grows a little more shy but it's there none the less.

"I'm Kitty Pryde."

Five seems pretty receptive to the girl (save for the twinge of uncertainty at how close they were) so he reaches out a hand and ruffles her hair lightly, "He seems to like you well enough, eh?" She only laughs and he introduces himself, "I'm the Doctor. Or, the Fifth, anyway."

Looking up to Eight, Five offers a slight smile, "It's fine, and what has you so excited?" He'd sit his empty tea cup down finally and stretch arms over his head.

"We want to show you something!"

He's off the bed as soon as Five begins to stretch, urging kitty to do the same and hoping that the other Doctor will follow their example.

"You'll love it," he explains as he rocks lightly on the balls of his feet. "I'm almost positive you will."

Kitty follows behind the Doctor, grinning widely. She's excited to show the other Doctor what they've done with the TARDIS.

"Yep, you'll love it," She's practically beaming again.

With a sigh, Five slides out of bed and pulls a sweater from a chair in his room. Pulling it on, he runs a hand back through his hair (he had terrible bed-head) and starts out after the two excited ones.

And oh, the moment he catches glimpse of the Console...

"What did you two do?"

Eight is all smiles until the very end, until he hears the sound of the other's voice.

A hand reaches out to Kitty as he bites at is lower lip, looking at the other Doctor with caution.

"You don't like it?"

It isn't that he doesn't like it, really. But he's not even used to having time for things like decorations. Remember, most of his time is spent trying to get the TARDIS to actually follow the right course.

Kitty is a little downhearted at the sound of the younger Doctor's voice, but she takes hold of Eight's hand and squeezes.

The blond walks about, looking at the lights, the tinsel and the glittery snowflakes. He doesn't seem too terribly pleased, but it's when he hears the Christmas music that his face lights up.

"You fixed the communication system, did you? And it's playing music, how very clever."

He had been meaning to fix it, but he never got around to it. Poor, poor TARDIS. "I'd say I like it," He nods. "It's going to take some getting used to, definitely."

Although it wasn't the reaction Eight was hoping for, he'll take it. Looking to the girl, he smiles. "See, I told you he'd like it."

Letting her hand go for a moment, he walks up behind the other Doctor and tries to slip the elf hat on him.

"There," he announces with a proud grin. "Now it's perfect, don't you think, Kitty?"

He's going to wait a little bit to mention the tree, at least until Five seems a little more comfortable with the other decorations.

Five is a little startled when the hat is shoved atop his head and he thinks to take it off, but stops. Goodness only knew the sort of grief he would get from it.

Kitty giggles and nods, "Yep, it's perfect now.

The younger Doctor moves to examine the control panel, flipping a few switches here and there when he notices just how smoothly the TARDIS seems to be reacting to it.

"Well, looks like even she likes it," He looks up to the Eighth Doctor and knows, just knows there's a conspiracy hidden in it all somewhere. But there's a smile either way, "Thank you both for this."

Kitty chances to move and give the Fifth Doctor a hug, "See? It's not so bad, right? If the TARDIS likes it..."

As Kitty moves to hug him, Eight follows her example, grinning all the while.

"See? There's Christmas cheer already! Just imagine what it will be like when we bring in the tree!"

Yes, there may be a conspiracy but Five has to admit tht it could be much, much worse.

Being sandwiched between the two distracts him, momentarily, from the comment of a tree. However, it does not take Five long at all to realize the words that fell from the older one's mouth.

"A tree? In the TARDIS?" Mainly, in his own TARDIS. A sigh, "I'm not so sure where you would put one..."

There's a hint there, really. But thankfully, Kitty knows nothing of subtlty.

"There's plenty of room, Doctor. We might be able to switch out the coat rack with one," She smiles broadly.

Five gives the older Doctor a pointed look.

Oh, this was going to be interesting.

Eight is quite skilled at acting oblivious and he's quick to put his skills to practice now.

"Oh don't worry," he assures the younger Doctor. "I was thinking we could either put it in your study! It would certainly fit there!"

At the suggestion of the coat rack idea, he nods, trotting over to the rack in question and pocking it up. "It would fit perfectly here," he announces, carrying the coat rack out of the console room and shoving it somewhere out of sight.

"Kitty! Come help me bring in the tree?"

Luckily for Eight, there is minimal protest from Five as the coatrack is removed. He rather liked things the way they had been set up and now all of it will be changed.

"Now, just one moment..."

But his interjections go unheard by the young mutant as she is quick to run through the door of the TARDIS (which leaves Five blinking a little bit).

She pokes her head back through the door, "If you hurry and hold onto it well enough, we won't have to worry about fitting it through the doorway. I can take it right through."

Fivey was starting think he might need to go back to sleep.

Eight claps his hands together, grinning at Five. "See? Isn't she brilliant!" And off he goes, out the door of the TARDIS.

"I think he's coming around," he informs while thinking up the tree. "I was worried for a minute but I definitely think he's coming around."

Part of this is, of course, wishful thinking but part of him really does think that by the time everything is said and done, Five really will enjoy it as much as they have. Of course this doesn't mean he'll be willing to show it but Eight will know (and be sure to inform Kitty) soon enough.
