there are places I remember...

Five has just managed his way back to the Inn after a rather long, tiring few days. While he didn't appear to crack beneath the pressure of it all, it was a narrow escape for majority of his group and even so, casualties ( Read more... )

Eight has been out and about and generally looking quite pleased for the most part. It's what travelling doe, you see and that's what he's been up to as of late.

However, it's never a disappointment to see the Inn, especially when it contains a certain other Doctor that he's very fond of.

"Well," he states, coming up behind the other and resting a hand against his shoulder. "I was going to suggest we get a cuppa but it seems you're a bit ahead of me."

He comes around, making himself comfortable on the arm of the chair and smiles.

Something tugs at him though, makes him give his younger self a second look and soon enough there's an arched brow and a somewhat concerned expression.

"How've you been keeping," he questions, the concern also reflected in his tone.

Five can almost feel the Eighth coming, so he looks up just as the other male begins to speak.

"Ah, yes, one step ahead of you, I'm afraid." He thinks up a cup for the other Doctor and offers it out.

His mind is a little preoccupied, but the smile is still on his face. "I've been keeping about as well as we normally do. And what about you, Doctor? Haven't made too much trouble, have you?"

He's trying to think of just what to say. How to say it.

Eight accepts the tea with a grateful smile. Sitting at it, he nods in approval, although he'd already known that it would be fine.

"Well of course I have," he replies smirking just a little. "It wouldn't be us if I weren't."

Shifting around just a bit to get more comfortable, his eyes stay on the other, studying him and trying to recall this moment from the other's perspective but finding that the Inn did quite a good job at scrambling up the memory (or maybe it was just his own head, he wasn't actually sure).

"What's happened," he asks after a few more moments of consideration. "Anything particularly eventful." He expects a lie but depending on the reaction, it may help him to piece together what his younger self seems concerned over.

"Nothing too horrible." Five states shortly.

He takes a long sip of his tea before he sinks back in his chair a little bit, actually contemplating whether or not he wants to tell the other.

It's with a deep sigh and a glance upwards to the other Doctor that he decides.

"Watched prehistoric Earth be destroyed and the like. Revisited old metal friends."

Maybe Eight would remember. If not, he'd leave it untouched.

Reid generally doesn't pay much attention to his surroundings when he's in the Inn, usually finding that anyone who might want him seeks him out themselves. So basically it's by sheer chance that he looks up from the map in front of him and catches sight of the Doctor.

Getting to his feet, he wanders over, smiling slightly as he approaches.

"Doctor," he speaks so as not to startle the man, for it seems he might be lost in thought and to assess if he were possibly distracting the man from something.

It's always good to see him but if Reid was interrupting, he was surely willing to go back to his work.

At the sound of his name, he looks up a little absently. He hadn't been expecting it at all, but the sight of Reid wasn't unwelcome.

He hadn't seen the boy in a while and it's nice to see one of his still well and healthy.

"Spencer!" He finally moves his tea and stands, approaching the other. "It's been a while, hasn't it? How have you been?"

Reid smiles broadly at the other when he approaches, pleased to see that he wasn't about to bother the man terribly.

"I've been fine," he replies and maybe, just maybe, there would be a light hug given to him. Be proud, Five, I think you're one of the few people that get an automatic Reid!hug upon sighting.

"How're you doing," he asks then. "Have you been here long?" The possibility that the man could have been here and Reid just missed him didnf't escape him, so he thought it best to ask so he might ofer an apology soon after.

"Oh no, haven't been here too long. No worries," Five smiles and returns the hug.

It really is nice to see Reid again, so his spirits have lifted a little bit anyway.

"I'm sure the TARDIS misses you greatly, too. She's far too quiet without you around, you know."

He had a few questions from Tegan when they found the spare room.

Thank goodness he's good at improvising.
