Gone But Not Forgotten?

To Whom It May Concern...

Fuck me.  It's been almost a year since I stopped by.

I just wrote a comment in a friend's journal where I described life a surge, that tends to sweep us along.  It's difficult to stop the momentum sometimes because finding purchase to bring ourselves to a halt is often just beyond reach.  For some reason today, I found ( Read more... )

We read, we care.

Absense from LJ is usually a good sign (people being too busy with IRL to bother about virtual), and I'm sorry to hear that you've not been absent due to good things.

I think writing can defiitely help clear the mind and make thoughts seem less abstract. Even though the audience has little or no connecction with our real lives, the mere fact that somebody might read this forces us to clarify, to crystalise our thoughts and make them slightly more tangible.

I think you're right. Writing is good for purging the soul. Not only that, it gives you the voice that you can't always find.

:) I'm glad you replied. I'm glad you care. I miss our Sunday morning ramblings on iChat.

I was wondering the other day, actually, how you were doing. It's been so long since I've received anything but jokes and pictures... ;-)

(I forwarded the "swearing at work"-thing to my department, since I've been known as the un-crowned king of polite offensiveness... Hehe...)

I appreciate it. More than you'll ever know.

I think the absence can also signify a time of uncertainty where, for me at least big challenges occur in life. Changes take place and there comes a difficulty in reaching the resolution that gets you to the final decision or a fear about where things are going.

There's also the effect having someone else in your life has. There's also the level of interaction that is required to maintain the balance between life in general and a relationship.

I've faced a lot of changes since my last contact with you. I'll try to explain them all in time.

You don't like my special selected jokes and pictures? The whole idea of at least sending those out is to let people know I'm still there in the background. Each message is like a kiss from the shadows...

Well C, hello and glad to see you're stopping in. You're looking your usual self.

Weather's quite warm here in Southern California, would you like some of our 20+ Celsius? We'd gladly take some rain, we're in a bit of a drought, and there are 10 million people in Southern California to feed.

Tell us a few more words. Happy weekend.

My usual self? Not sure whether to take that as compliment or not. I think I've changes a bit facially from the last image I used... I'm certainly a heck of a lot older. The last 'default' picture was taken about 8 years ago (shit, I feel old!).

I'll send you rain, but I'd like some snow in exchange. We've been robbed of our white stuff this winter. Maybe we can arrange a three way trade!?

Oh C...when I read your note, the older photo displayed--in short, you looked the same as then. Yet, this photo is not so radically different--well, this photo is taken from a different angle, of a man 8 years older. But I still see the same person, overall.

Hmm, we're a bit pinched on snow, so yes--a three-way exchange is in order. My friend J in Seattle is worn out from their snow and rain this autumn and winter, some areas of Puget Sound are deep in snow. So he'll send over a batch of snow, I'll take the rain, and there's plenty of warm sun for both of you.

LOL, I think you took my comment a bit too seriously. There was a definite tongue in cheekedness about the whole thing. Heh. :) Of course I've changed. I'm getting older and fuglier!

Right, how will we organise this mammoth task of weather distribution? Is there a machine we can hire or do we need to rely on divine intervention?

Never forgotten! You're celaurie! It has been a long time since you have posted. I don't know what is going on in your life at the moment but I do know that you do always land on your feet. It's to see that you are around though. I am curious as to what is eating away at you though.

I am the mighty ~cel! :) Who could forget that... Other than me?

I tend to land somewhat on my feet although my balance and recovery from the drops are becoming respectively unsteadier and longer. I wont even tell you what life is doing to my proverbial tumbling knees. ;)

Time will tell what eats at my core.

hey, thanks for the nudge Chris... but I'm not quite ready for my return...
It's not that I hate the lj world, it opened my life in many ways, brought me contact to people all across north america, and a few special entities broadening beyond that too.

I do promise a full return, and do know it shall happen, I just need a bit more time

*hug*
thanks for the message, it brought a little smile to my night :)
