Ugh. I was just posting in someone else's LJ that I didn't know what happened with Prop 8. Boo:( That just sucks.

Yeah, it does. :-(

FYI, the NYT map lets you look at what happened state-by-state (pulldown for state results on the right), both elections and ballot measures.

This does, indeed, suck. One dark spot (if a big one) in an otherwise amazing night.

I am very cheered at the pro-choice victories in SD and CO, though.

Yes - and the one in CO went down almost 3 to 1.

(How can anyone say that life begins at fertilization? It's like trying to define pi as 3. Ridiculous. Survival is not possible without implantation at the very least.)

Where are you seeing this? All the news I'm still seeing says it was leaning toward "yes" but still too close to call.

The NYT state results is pegging it at 51.9 yes, 48.1 no, with 92% reporting.

This article from an hour ago says it's still too close to call. So ... I'll still hope.

Hmmm. I'm not going to hope too hard, though.

But thanks for the article link; I hadn't seen that Washington state passed the physician-assisted suicide measure, and I'm very much in favor of that.

Fingers crossed. And then there's the inevitable wrangling with the CA constitution.

That's my hope - that it'll be challenged and shot down.

At least from what I understand, the recent Connecticut decision ended there, and can't be overturned.
