First day of autumn. Sort of.

Oct 19, 2015 09:27

Which is to say, today was the first day so far this season that I actually wore a jacket while walking my dogs at 7 am. There were a couple of mornings last week when I was rather chilly without one, but it was doable. Today I needed the jacket.

This post turned out pretty long, so I'm cutting; health stuff, lots of cooking, and Halloween )

health, halloween, cooking

I hope you continue to feel better! *makes you tea*

All that food sounds AMAZING. I'm so impressed! I'm trying to be better about cooking decent meals for the family, but it's a continual struggle. I need to keep you in mind as inspiration and figure if I can make even 1/8 of the awesomeness you make, I'll be doing great! *is determined* *glances guilty at sad refrigerator*

Yay for carving pumpkins and roasted pumpkin seeds! I love October!

We both really like good food, so that's one of our incentives for me cooking a lot! Going out gets expensive plus it just isn't as healthy. So my strategy for a number of years now has been to do most of my cooking on the weekends, and then during the week I reheat things, and maybe cook the veggie freshly or throw together a salad. It also makes the evenings much easier not to have to come up with ideas for dinners on the fly. So I do a lot of pre-planning, too. The drawback is that it's less flexible, if we get in the mood for something other than what's been planned, but we've gotten used to that.

*drinks tea* Thanks!

Where I am it's been jacket weather for ages, I actually had to upgrade to a warmer jacket a few weeks ago.

I hope your sinus infection continues to get better! (and yes, water up the nose really is yuck, yuck, yuck)

I used to live in Minnesota and I know it's been jacket weather up there for quite a while. I'm ready to be past the highs-in-the-80s thing now!

And thanks - I'm a terrible judge of whether it's really getting better. If I'm still having to blow my nose this much, I'm not sure it is, although as I said at least it feels a little better, which is something.

Sinus infections are notoriously difficult to cure.

It was 90 here last week, the poor trees haven't even begun to turn all that much.

Love knowing about all the amazing items you cook and bake.

I learned from my mom this weekend that my grandmother had chronic sinus infections for many years. Sigh. This is my first one... I'm hoping I do not follow in Grandma's footsteps!

Glad you enjoy the food posts. *g* I like talking about food, but my SO doesn't especially (although he likes eating good food!).
