My primary fandom is "The Avengers" even though I'm too busy to write in it right now. I like the female characters and their relationships: mostly fic and meta but if people link me to vids, I'm also very happy.

Cool. Nice to have a fandom with good female characters!

It's one of the aspects I still love about HP fandom: Hermione's just one of many fascinating female characters!

Not writing fic at the moment unless extremely AU King's Speech counts. Most of my fannish interaction is with people I know from HP. I love The Hunger Games but have no desire to put my toe in that universe. I really dislike Sherlock so I do not understand why seeing Cumberbatch/Freeman on a fic will make me stop and look. *g*

I have no knowledge of Sherlock whatsoever so I don't even know who those characters are! *g*

AU... sure, it counts if YOU think it counts!

*giggles* I loathe pretty much all the characters. Those are the actors. I feel certain that Cumberbatch's appearance as Khan in the next Trek movie will get me over him very quickly.

As much as I would like to pretend I am writing clever historical AU, the characters are running around wearing Firth and Rush's faces, so either I am writing King's Speech AU fic or I am writing RPF AU fic, which would be worse!

Fair enough. *g*

And now I must dash as I have been sneaking this at work, and SO is picking me up in 4 minutes so we can go walking (me, with Juno) and running (him).

Catch you later...

there's nothing feeding the fandom

*nods* Yeah; I hear you on that. Even though I was more bookverse than movieverse for both LotR and HP, when the movies were through, things really slowed down in both those fandoms.

Merlin is my only fandom (and first, at that:)).

I love the stories, the different ways that power plays out between characters. I love the element of destiny.

I am sure other fandoms are amazing in their creativity, but the different arts I've seen have blown me away. I rec all the art I love, so you could look at it if you want. Tag is fanart:)

I also really really love it when people get inspired off what other people do, both personally and seeing it in other circles.

I am loving writing stories and beta'ing.

At the moment we are in hiatus, so people aren't talking directly about the show much, but I love it when we can have a good conversation about the acting, or the stories, or our favorite bits/eps.

For the record, it turns out I don't really an OTP, but I can't pair Merlin with anyone else if Arthur is around. I have to pretend Arthur is not in the picture to pair him up with anyone else. Lancelot and Guinevere are my OTP for this 'verse. I never pair them with anyone else (no one reads het in this fandom though ( ... )

Yeah, like Maple said above, when there's any kind of hiatus things definitely slow down in a given fandom, so I understand that.

Dragons are cool! *total lack of dragon icon, picks bunny instead*

Dragons are cool. I even have two dragon icons:)

The funny thing to me is that I am not on hiatus at all. I'm on fire. LOL. I don't care. I've found a few new people who are all excited about the shiny! and new! and it's fun:)

Oh sure. I didn't mean to imply that everyone necessarily slowed down, only that a fandom overall generally does.

Glad you are still so excited about it and finding like minds!

Stargate Atlantis. I'm currently writing a novel-length crossover with Generation Kill.

I enjoy isolated communities, 'living' ships and I love daily life stuff. I don't have a canon pairing - closest I get is Lorne/Cadman. I really dislike Sheppard/McKay and I really don't get fandom's extreme fascination with McKay in any case. He has a tiny tiny cameo in my story, which mostly bypasses the main series characters anyway.

I enjoy outsider POV stories and that is what Rock Happy is - somebody from the 'regular world' being sent to Atlantis and following him as he figures out how to function there with all the alien weirdness and with a very different team from what he's used to.

Heh, not knowing SA fandom at all, I have no idea why McKay would be fascinating.

Sounds fun!
