It's cold out there

Freezing rain overnight, turning to snow, so I got to scrape close to 1/4" of ice off my car before I could leave this morning, and the roads were very slick. I ended up going about 45 mph the whole way, and arrived almost a half hour late (whereas usually I'm 15-20 minutes early). Better slow, though, as I kept hearing on the radio reports of

That is what Monday night was like for us. School was canceled on Tuesday. There was a lot of ice out of there. I was glad they didn't try to get kids to school on Tuesday. I'm sorry you had to go out there and deal with that mess!

The thing was that it really wasn't THAT bad. Slick, yeah, but by no means impassable, as long as one was careful and didn't try to rush. I was surprised all the schools were closed.
