House is clean and quiet, rain is pattering the windows. I'm tired - I ran almost all of the raids this weekend in my online game, which means coordinating 24ish people who are half on caffeine buzzes and half still in turkey comas. I'm not terribly outspoken either so it just wore me the hell out being "in charge" that long. Meh. I did ok tho ( Read more... )

Lol, library nerd names :)

Were it me, I'd go the same route, but I'd try to make the rat/mouse exception and put Algernon in there too :)

Algernon was on the list of possibilities, but it's just such a sad name to me. Reepicheep and Desperaux are actually both mice, but I'm gonna claim they have the hearts of rats... mice aren't known for being particluarly bright or courageous after all. :)

I remember Reepicheep vaguely...he was somewhere in the Narnia series wasn't he? It's been ages. No idea about Desperaux, but I guess I may have just forgotten, since it seems like a familiar name.

Algernon is kinda sad I guess. I just remember thinking it was a great name, regarless if it was for a mouse or just in general. I liked the book.

It was a really good book, but I think I cried through half of it. :(

Reepicheep was the talking mouse from the third Narnia book - The Dawn Treader. Desperaux was lately tuned into a kids movie, which may be why it sounds familiar. However, the movie is based off of the book Tales of Desperaux, which won the Newbery some years ago. :)
