I really enjoyed this poem. So real and I could see the scene and imagine every moment. Lovely.

That poem legit made me cry, darling. I read it the other night at like 1am and was like, "Okay, clearly I need to go to sleep now because that just made me cry." When I read it again in the morning, it still made me cry. :)

he whined and leaned his head on my shoulder, seventh grader for context. It just about broke my heart,

Awwww. That's just lovely at least to know that you were so loved by the students. I also saw in your other post how you have been getting shocked reactions from the teachers and I just wish that the higher ups had to break that news themselves so they could have seen those reactions for themselves.

They just don't pay attention. I was struck by that today during the department coordinator's meeting when just casually search committees were mentioned. My supervisor is in charge of the library one, that's not going to work out well ( ... )

After reading this post, I was telling J about the students and teachers reaction to the news of you leaving and she was like, "I bet they are shocked for sure. I hope they say something to someone or the heads hear the murmurings of disappointment and maybe think for a second about how they didn't even reach out to anyone else before making this decision." I mean, it won't help you or your situation but they could really learn from this mistake. Of course, knowing how very little they actually listen at this school, I highly doubt they will hear anything of anyone being upset over this decision, though I imagine the teachers at least have mentioned it to each other ( ... )

Yes, I keep wondering that myself, how much of the surprise is getting to the administrators. My guess is not a lot because I think many of the faculty like the students don't trust the administrators to listen. It sounds like for a lot of them, they tend to do their thing and ask permission later as its simpler. Older teachers were more not that surprised as I think the person who's worked in the library, no matter their title has been in a tough position. Its just a spot without a lot of respect or structure so I tried but some of them were like yeah, this sucks but that's how it is. So much is wrong with this school and I keep seeing more and more of it ( ... )
