Erik's always been taller but now he's a presence, looming over the chair, "You know there's metal in here?" "Yes, I know."
I liked this one for two main reasons: a) the thing I hate the most about having to be in the wheelchair is how everyone looms over me, how small and unseen I feel (and coming from someone who has spent her life just under 5feet and is used to be the shortest one in the room, that is saying somethng). and b) the idea that Charles is fully trusting in Erik by having metal in the chair.
