Room to breathe

I left my host's place before noon today and checked into the Holiday Inn by a little after 2. They gave me a great rate for staying longer term and there's a furnished apartment, extended stay place across the street that I'm going to talk to and see how they work out. The hope is that I'll have my own place by the end of October, but I'm going to ( Read more... )

I'm really glad your new place (at least, your temporary new place) is restful! I hope you have a fun, relaxing weekend.

Thank you, I went to see a movie, bought delicious food and am now watching whatever I want. Its a wonderful feeling. There's something about sharing someone else's space that always makes me feel not quite grown up, its weird and not fun. This was really the right change.

Glad you've found solace, even if it's the temporary sort.

It was very rushed for you once you got the job, since the school seemed to wait until right before orientation week to make a decision, which kind of messed you up. Learning a new job in a new town is hard enough as is, but looking for a home at the same time has to be unendingly stressful. It's just too much for a person to handle at once and you did not have enough time before you were thrown into things. The hotel room sounds nice and just what you need.

Talking on the phone with my mom, she said that I sound more like me and I think that's true; sharing a space for so long has been much more stressful than I realized. Then the hotel was the right place to go, I think. Just a reminder that you are always welcome here. It would be a hell of a commute but if you end up needing a place for a little while, the whole basement could be yours (M always said it was nice because she had her own space down there and we never bugged her if she just went straight downstairs after getting home from work). Just fyi, if you get stranded, ( ... )

I think the planning this school does is a sign that they're not as organized as they could be. They try to get everyone involved in decisions but that makes them take longer. I also think they don't get that many out of state hires so they're not as prepped for what ended up happening.

At the picnic today a lot of people were so confused by wait you haven't found a place yet. I kept thinking how easily did you find someplace last time you looked? I mean I know they mean well, but it kept making me blink and go, please just think about this for a moment. I've been starting a library program, when have I had time to look. Being in the hotel is really helping and its within walking distance of the school.

I need to write more Charles' fic, the AU meme gave me this idea for amnesiac Charles and Erik and this idea would fit well into him learning to use his ability.
