I'm feeling a little wobbly but good. Today was long and hopeful, I have all these lists of ideas and observations for the library. There's a lot of potential and I think the kids like me, I hope they do, the faculty seem to. I've got to ask - is there a reason they can't eat lunch in the library? (I mean, other than that you need to eat too.) If it's so in demand, could you make it a reward or a perk? One day a week?

There is a reason, the school doesn't have a cafeteria and the library is at the moment mainly a social hang out. There are a lot of other places for them to eat, many teachers allow them to eat in their classrooms, they can eat in the halls, they can eat outside. This was a rule created before me that I'm holding up, because I think it sends the right message.

Its a little tricky due to the furniture set up which contributes to the more study hall than library feel, but I'm working on that. There are so many things going on around this space but this is one way to make clear, library, some hang out is good, just not that level.
