Milliways/RP Thoughts and Update

Since I last posted about Milliways, I'm feeling much more reassured that the mods had actually been thinking about a move for a while. I sort of wish they'd mentioned that before the latest blow up as that was partly why I felt things all rushing to a point at once. Though I have to admit I'm feeling a little more comfortable with the idea of

I really hope that you get to bring Charles into the bar proper.

Also, I guess I am also feeling less nervous about the move, but I am still just not sure we need to do it. (Heaven help me, but I still like LJ and still don't love DW.) But no point being Don Quixote about it.

Thank you, I'd love to play him there and I'm glad you like him. Yeah, I feel the same way. DW's nice but it still needs more work to get things done.

I just feel like well, we're going there, so I'd best figure things out.

For my personal stuff, I plan on continuing to crosspost and use LJ as not all my LJ stuff is moving.

I figure I should crosspost, but as far as I can tell most of my friend still read LJ. I count at this point three who no longer even crosspost, so I figure the rest still use LJ.

(It's worth noting that the majority of my non-RP friends haven't changed a thing. Most haven't even commented about the changes. This despite all being fannish.)

The majority of my flist is Milliways' folks and yeah, most of them are crossposting though some of them have don't comment here on their journals. So I'm still reading my flist on LJ, but the few people I know who aren't Milliways haven't said anything.

It's interesting because it's clear some people have wanted an excuse to move over and the loud voices versus the quieter voices become a lot clearer. The discussions in the back room really show a great cross section of the community.

I'm not really surprised the move's happening - I think it has more to do with the accessibility issue everyone's been talking about than anything - but it is sort of an era ending, isn't it?

Yes, it really is and the accessibility is so important. I just had some problems with some of the bumps along the way but it's working better now.

Yeah, the mods are doing their best to make sure it all happens smoothly and I trust them. It's been more other people who brought a lot of other stuff in that made it hard.
