Oh my god, it just occurred to me- why is Gil afraid of cats? How much you wanna bet the original Cheshire scratched Gil or something and that’s why Vincent gauged out it’s eyes?

That wouldn't surprise me at all. It sounds very much like the kind of reason Vincent could have had for doing something like that. :|

Right? It could, of course, have been a random act of sociopathy since lord knows neither of those kids are what I'd call mentally stable* and I'm sure that's what Alice thought it was, but craziness is more interesting when there's a motive behind it.

*even Gil, before he got mindwhammied, had hostility problems- looks like some things run in the family.
