1) Have seen Fast and Furious. AWESOME. Will probably have some kind of recap later, but for now-  Brian + Dom = LOVE. Though I've pretty much lost my chance of seeing Watchmen in theaters. Yay for Blockbuster?

2) Am rewatching Avatar with a friend, half in person and half through AIM, because my *beep* job doesn't let me leave the building for 24 ( Read more... )

Well, the reason you may have broken so many brains caught the fans' interest is because, crackish as it may have been, in the end, it was still plausible...

Have you considered writing fanfiction? the way you pay attention to detail would probably make for great characterization... it's not all that it's involved in writing, but it's a key aspect of fanfiction. A well-written story with poor characterization is a terribly boring/frustrating thing to read.

Ah, fanfiction. Yeah, I have, but every time I think about it, I get this massive feeling of guilt as I think about that first draft I should be writing, or that reaction paper due tomorrow or...

But come May? There is a very good chance that I'll start writing some kind of fic. Won't have anything else to do, after all. XD

Thank you for the compliment though! :D :D :D I love well thought out characterization, it's what makes fic work for me most of the time.

Well, if you decide to start writing, I'll be avidly waiting for those fics to come, then. :)

Haha, well, the Holic comm needs more interesting discussions and theorizing posts imo (though I really shouldn't complain, because I have done nothing to contribute to that...), so perhaps people were happy to see the entry you made there. :]

I want the next season of Merlin to start again too. :D Arthur/Merlin/Gwen/Morgana OT4 ftw.

I loooooove massive discussions and interesting theories. I wish the Holic community was a bit more meta than it is. I mean, look at the material we have to work with! It's not like CLAMP doesn't know how to write a complexly layered story or anything.

Merlin needs to start ASAP. o_o I want to see Arthur become less of an ass, I want to see Merlin learn some responsibility, I want Morgana to get her independence, and I want Gwen to believe in herself. And I want it nooooooooooooow.

(can you tell I'm a spoiled only child?)

Idk, but I feel like there were a lot more TRC and Holic discussions going on in the fandom a few years ago. Perhaps it's because there were more unsolved mysteries in the story back then, or perhaps the fans have just given up on trying to figure out what's going on at this point, but I miss reading everyone's analyses and theories a bit.

Yes, word to everything you say about the Merlin characters. Also, I want Arthur to find out about Merlin being a magician; I was waiting for him to discover it during the whole first season but in vain... I suppose they want to keep that secret as long as possible for the sake of the plot, but still.

Idk, but I feel like there were a lot more TRC and Holic discussions going on in the fandom a few years ago.

I got into Holic through fic- it's pretty much my SOP- and I gobbled everything up for a few weeks. When I was done, I looked around and thought, 'Alright, where's the new stuff? Gimme!'

Only I didn't find any new stuff (at the time). It was very puzzling, especially since I had found all of these amazing gems earlier.

Then I finally looked at the dates when certain fics were written. 2005. 2006. A couple in 2007.

And you know, I get it. Four years is a long time to stick with one fandom (especially in anime/manga fandom, I've noticed) so it makes sense that people have moved on. But I still feel like there was this Golden Age for Holic and I missed it. By at least a year. And that makes me very sad. :(

On Merlin- I can't wait for them to use the word wizard. I know, that's a really weird thing to to want, but the Merlin in popular culture isn't known as a warlock, he's a magician/wizard. I think it would really show a ( ... )
