I can't really blame you for your frustrations. As a native of the former Soviet Union, I had more than my fill of shattered dreams and broken promises.

When I was 10 years old, I made up my mind to remain hopeful. No matter how broken the world may get, our souls are our personal domains. I reasoned that, as bad as things may get, they cannot change who I am. And I chose to be hopeful.

But that's just something that works for me. As people who know me will attest to, I am an uncommonly stubborn person. So, honestly, I don't fault anybody for feeling despondent and disillusioned.

But take it from someone who has seen the world change around him more times than he cares to count. The world is never predictable. Just when you think things can't get any worse, the world surprises you and gives you something to believe in. Things get better. Things get worse. But they never, ever stay the same.

Best of luck to you - and everyone in the United Kingdom.
