It's been a fun few days.

Okay, interesting maybe more than fun. I went to the careers fair on Tuesday, still all hyped up after the Tweet of the Day shenanigans, hoping to find something interesting to look into for after university. Of course, it was jampacked because every other panicking 3rd/4th year had the same idea. So many accountancy/

I'm majoring in Humanities, and I talked to a career counselor recently about getting a job relating to that, so he said, "The great thing about Humanities is that you can do almost anything. The bad thing about Humanities is that you can do almost anything."

... So yeah, that's not entirely helpful.

Hi, I came across you via Twitter and Keith Olbermann. I hope you don't mind that I friended you, but we seem to have a handful of similar interests, and I and a roommate are working on teaching ourselves (Scottish) Gaelic so seeing that you're in Edinburgh and a Celtic lit student was just a little too cool to pass up.

Hey there.

Sure, no problem. Always good to have more wonk lovers on LJ, especially ones brave/mad enough to want to learn Gaelic. I did it for one year and it was the hardest thing I've ever done. Luckily I'm more suited to the literature/history side of it although I am doing Old Irish texts right now which is more language orientated. Nice to know my degree is considered cool by someone. XD
