You've done it! THEY ARE ALL THE SAME VAPID SHELL FOR SELF-INSERTION! You can live vicariously through these people! Go on, you're a woman, of course you want to, right? UGH!!! Fucking pop culture, how does it work? Dismissively to women, that's how.

Awesome post. I'm all for 'guilty pleasures' whether there intended for women or men, but my problem is when this crap takes itself seriously like Twilight. Like we're suppose to believe Bella is a selfless person just because Meyer or Edward say so, or that Edward is the perfect man just cause Bella and Meyer say so.

Actions speak louder than words, if your female character is a selfless person show it, don't tell. I feel we need more gender neutral stuff in entertainment rather than gender separation.
