So I'm heading a class on Wednesdays--last fall I was the assistant for this class, now I'm heading it. It's a class with a lot of challenges. 1) The space is small and weirdly-shaped

Oh my gosh, I love your stories. This is terrible. Why the snot are they giving this person money??? How did he ever find roommates to begin with??? WHY ARE PEOPLE GIVING HIM SO MUCH MONEY!?!?!

I don't know how he found them--D knew him before and knew he was a hot mess and had faced eviction before. I have no idea how poor K got caught up. And yeah, I just don't get how SO many people gave him money, how he's getting so much support when his story is tissue-thin. Give your money to K, people! I can't imagine how overlooked and bereft she must feel. (I hardly even KNOW Kim, FYI, I think I've only met her twice but A knows her and as I said, if he had ANY decency he would help her out.)

I did the same. D and K got money from me, A did not.

Though I agree with pretty much everything you say about A, I will call attention to the phrase "he fucking murdered an animal." Killed through negligence, absolutely. But "murder" implies intent, premeditation. He's a fuck-up, but he's not a monster. I assume you used the word for dramatic effect and not as an accusation, but it still bothers me.
