A Christmas Carol, Baking and News

I'm rewriting A Christmas Carol again--TTC is doing a smaller, version of it this year. It's going to be staged in the Hoboken Historical Museum which is an interesting space. Here you go:

Apple bread. As I said, I substituted about a cup of brown sugar for the regular sugar. The batter is THICK; it will take you some effort to work in all the nuts. Also, make sure you don't overbake it--don't wait for the knife to come out clean.
