Regarding Ramona--when mine are snotty, I take whoever's sniffling into the bathroom and take a long, hot bath or shower to get the room all steamy. If it works for humans to break up the crud and help you breathe more easily, I think it has to help cats, too. (Particularly since they can't blow their noses and need the snot to be able to drain out or down on its own. Though you can take a piece of Kleenex and gently dab or wipe their noses.)
Yeah, Mr. C took Ramona into the bathroom for a steaming last night, and we've been wiping her nose. Yesterday I also heated my rice bag for her and put her down on it, where she fell asleep. She's still all Mucus Queen this morning, so Mr. C is taking her to the vet while I'm at work.
