Awards shows blah blah blah. Except:

SANDY I AM SO PROUD OF YOU.

Take that haters-who-never-thought-she-was-worthy. (But seriously, I was happy with whoever in that category. Ms Streep, you own it anyhow.) Oh, and The Boy started getting emotional during her speech, aww.

Keanu should have totally introduced her. I MEAN THEY HAVE SUCH EPIC ( Read more... )

The Oscars just weren't as fun this year without Hugh Jackman ("The Reader... I haven't seen the Reader!") and spot-the-pattz (ie trying to spot Robert Pattinson in every crowd shot).

Did you think the continuity was just off this year? So many awkward moments where nothing happened. That could have been Ch9 though. Last with with the musical tribute was just 104728948x better.

Also, I'm with The Boy, I was tearing up at her acceptance speech. ♥

She loves her mama so much, it makes me cry. ♥ It would have been A+ had she said something in German (I love it when she does that, even if I can't understand it).

“Did I really earn this or did I just wear you all down? I would like to thank the Academy for allowing me in the last month to have the most incredible ride with rooms full of artists that I see tonight and that I’ve worked with before and I hope to work with in the future, who inspire me and blaze trails for us. Four of them that I’ve fallen deeply in love with I share this night with and I share this award with ( ... )

HISTORIC. And Sandy really needs to do a movie with La Streep now.

Oh, I cried like a water faucet. LOL

Though I'm starting to believe Meryl IS her lover. Oh, well. They can live in a house together with all their Oscars. lol (She's prettier than Jesse, come on.)

And you'll notice she didn't thank her husband...

I couldn't help it, when I was watching the red carpet and saw Jesse hovering around I just said, "Oh, but he's just so not pretty!" (Completely superficial, but you know.)

Still don't get why the producers missed out on an epic Keandra moment. THEY JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND.

I know, hon. I just try not to think about Jesse. When I do, it makes my head hurt. ;)

It didn't fully hit me till today, but it's pretty baffling that when they decided to have other actors stand up there and talk about the nominees, and Keanu was going to be there, they didn't have HIM talk about her instead of Forest Whitaker. It doesn't make sense! Keanu is her close friend and has filmed with her twice, so where did they dig up Forest Whitaker who directed her in a movie 12 years ago?

So now I'm kind of super peeved at an otherwise perfect moment. Because that would have made it PERFECT perfect.

This is not all in our heads, man! It's noooot! (I just watched The Lake House a little earlier, so I am filled with fresh indignance. LOL)

I know, right? It was so perfect to have him there. Everyone knows they've got each other's back and yet they back to Hope Floats days? (Random movie to choose, too. I mean, of all her movies you'd think they'd either choose a recent one, or one of her most famous. Or, you know, Speed.)

I watched The Lake House on Valentine's Day Eve and even though it had been a year since I'd last watched it (I know, I know!) it's still so evident for me as though it was 2006 again. Sigh.
