Are you on Dreamwidth? LJ is increasingly unusable and I'm starting to pack up house over here, but I'd love to keep reading you there.

Also, remind me to tell you sometime about the dream I had where you lived in a huge mansion.

Yes, I've had a DW mirror for years. I've probably already friended you through there since I did a giant scripty mirror friending of everyone with the same usernames? (Unless that was so long ago it was before we were LJ friends? Can't remember...)

We're also mirroring this comm on Dreamwidth -- in fact I think right now I've got more people joining the comm there than on LJ. LJ's recent outages have been... yeah.

Whenever I think about mansions I think it must be a terrible pain to have to furnish all those rooms and heat them... :-)

Your mansion was very elegantly furnished! I only saw a few rooms but they were done in a fascinating style that was a cross between spare modern Japanese elegance/sterility and retrofuturism. Lots of white. A dining room with a low table so guests could sit on the floor, but the table itself was actually a regular table in a sort of pit so the edge of the pit became a bench and people's legs would dangle Western-style. A super fancy gas stove in the kitchen with a space specifically designed for a wok. A powder room the size of my apartment with lots of mirrors and white spherical chairs. It was pretty fantastic. There was also an enormous manicured lawn.

Alas, I had to shout at some of the people who came to the party you were throwing in the later part of the dream (I'm certain you would not invite such people to any party in real life), but the early part where I was just hanging out and doing work while you bustled around getting ready for the party was really nice.

LOL, in a weird way, it sounds a lot like an idealized version of the house we live in now, which has it's share of Japanese shoji/Ikea minimalism, and we did buy a fantastic gas stove a year ago that has leveled up the cookery.

Come up and visit again sometime!

I hope you organize this again next year. I've had this open on a browser tab for weeks deciding if I would start, but it's not where my time/energy is most needed this year.
