I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed The Prince's Boy. And I totally hear you on the story exploding into something twice as big (if not more) than you originally thought it would be. That happened to me with Balancing Karma, which I posted as a weekly serial as well. I thought it would be 90K. It turned out to be about 4K less than 200K. And I did have the POV going between the 2 mains (Moswen & Kijika), too.

Karma also spawned a (currently) novella length work featuring Moswen and Kijika's son, Jaiseki, and his lover, Sarojin, as well as a couple of one shots and even a one-shot with Sarojin and Jaiseki's twin boys, Vuchel and Vashin.

And it should also be noted that I've even got ball-jointed-dolls of all these characters *head desk* (technically, the Twins are in production right now, but I expect them home around the end of June).

Funny how that happens, doesn't it? I really think it was the two narrators who doubled the size, but it was also the fact that once I got going I realized... why hurry? It's not like a commercial novel where if you go over 80,000 words your editor yells at you for wrecking the production budget (and then makes you cut it).

Re: the dolls, OMG how awesome. The closest thing i've got is teddy bears a fan made for me of the main characters in magic university! :-) I'm not crafty enough to make anything but fiction...

If I were ever to publish Karma, it would be in at least 2 volumes and possibly even 3 due to its size. And that is before I've tweaked it! Its currently in what I consider raw format and I expect the overall word count to rise as I tweak since I didn't have time to do it when I was posting weekly.

I should also mention that Moswen's half-brother, Tyhlian has his story with his lover, Dakvir called Dreaming Of The Void that I'm posting as a guest author at Yaoifix.com. I've also got Tyhlian as a doll and Dakvir is also in production and expected to arrive at the end of June (I went crazy and ordered 3 dolls at once).

This, BTW, is Moswen (the blond with tan skin), Kijika (the black haired one standing beside Moswen), Jaiseki (the blue/green haired one), Ryzel (the tallest black haired one) and Haniel in his teenager form (the pink haired one with bad fashion sense). Ryzel and Haniel are from my novel Blind Desire through TQ.
