I definitely enjoyed this book more than Nevermore.
I found that characterization of Dean to be pretty off, too. Crushing his independent spirit? Well, I guess in comparison with Sam, I could *sort of* see that... but I never saw Dean as spineless who let Sam boss him around. What about in Scarecrow when Sam insisted they go to California instead of Indiana because he wanted to find Dad? Dean didn't just roll over and comply with him - he left him and went to Indiana anyway. Yeah, that description was a bit off...
This seeming insistence that Sam's eyes are brown still irks me. I guess to some people, hazel = brown? :/
Great review of this one. I enjoyed this book as well.
Huh. Now this book I remember being mildly interested in. But, not sure if this funky characterization of the boys would rub me wrong, or if I could ignore it for the gore (I can ignore a lot for gore!) But this one I may just have to check out.
I'm reading this book now and I'm liking it alot. I too think though that Sam and Dean seem a little out of character at times too. I don't think it ruined the book for me, but it def. shows how different views people can have on things.
