WGW tickets this time are 60 quid. They have 8 bands; 1 really good band, 1 good band, 2 who are moderately entertaining but not musically amazing, 1 on probation, and 3 who sound like complete dross. In practice you only get to see about 25 or so, and they group them loosely by genre so mostly what you want to be doing is picking a venue for each night. And they start announcing them several months beforehand, so there's plenty of time to have a listen and work out which ones are dross.

Sixty quid for eight bands that you don't like half of, and without there even being overlaps so you can ignore the rubbish ones, doesn't sound like a good deal to me. Then again, captive audience, sort of, isn't it? And then again, that's about what I paid for a day ticket to the festival in Gothenberg that I went to see Clutch at, and the line-up had roughly those proportions, but that was still worth it for a) Clutch and b) the ridiculousness of the whole thing.

It is, and much easier to get to as well.

I think I'm coming down on no. It's the NMA, it's not like they never tour...
