The Location of Peanut Butter

I have so many things I could post about: the weekend (ugh), work, birthday parties, the orthopedist. But, what I really want to talk about (er...complain about) is The Supermarket. The one that's 1/2 mile from my home, specifically ( Read more... )

No more wine in the cat food aisle!

Okay I laughed outloud on this line.

But I am totally there with you. I do not like grocery shopping as I am sure you have read. Add this too the Stop and Shop down the street from us under going an overhaullast year (year before?) what I had down to a 35 min trek became an hour long treasure hunt complete with me saying, "Oh I give up!".

Keep in mind that supermarkets reorganize for a reason. I'll bet you somewhere in the back halls of the store someone saw a drop off in revenues. A great way to increase said revenues is to move things around so that people have to go hunting for them and end up getting exposed to more items and thus impulse buying more.

How's your impulse purchases been in the last couple of weeks?

Oh, I bet you're totally right on the revenue thing. I also think they're putting in new shelving. But, dude, enough already. It's been weeks! And I'm so confused!

Actually, I think the impulse buying is level. I have a tendency to impulse-buy produce, which hasn't changed (yet). "Baby zucchini? Sure! I'll buy that. And buddha's fingers, why not? I'm positive I can find something to do with it"

Ehhh Gad, wine in a grocery store. Surely you jest. I thought us Puritans defeated that Satanic law. Next thing you know, they'll be selling beer, and then crack cocain.

Won't someone think of the children?

You too? The store near where I work is also undergoing a huge overhaul. We seem to have greeting cards near the drinks, which are on the opposite side of the store from the pop (or soda, for those of you not from Chicago). And the dairy section has been split in half as well: milk and hard cheeses on one side of the store and soft cheeses and yogurts on the other side. Logical, huh?
