The family I work for is in the
local paper today! :) (article in Swedish, obviously) I'm actually glad I wasn't mentioned, because I don't know how long I'll get to work for them. FYI: Awni, the man in the center, is my "real" boss, while Mustafa, far right, heads the main office in Hungary

I gave the article a cursory glance last night and will read it more thouroughly later, looking up all the words I don't know etc.
I was surprised to see that I actually get the gist of the thing rather well anyway. Is it particularly easy Swedish or just normal newspaper language?
27C! That's nice, isn't it? We get about the same these days, and I really enjoy it.

Actually, Awni called the paper and invited them.

It's on the easier side. I hope the journalist doesn't come across this, because I know here a little...and her writing leaves a bit to be desired.

I've heard reports of rain and flooding in central Europe, are you affected by that?

You can always delete or f-lock this thread so she can't find it.

Here in Berlin, we have perfect summer weather. The storms are in South and South West of Germany. Actually, the area where my family lives should be affected, I've seen pictures in the news from places just a few villages away from my family's place, taken after hailstorms which left streets *covered* in hailstones the size of golfballs etc.
I keep meaning to phone them to find out if they have had any problems but I'm sure if they had I would know...

I guess I could, but nah. On the off chance she does find my journal, I'm just gonna have to stand for my opinion.

Now, how about you summarize it in English? ;þ
Reply
Because I can and because I hate writing summaries or even essays.
But you can choose any one paragraph from the article and I will translate it into German and English within - couldn't say how long it'll take me - not long though, half an hour at the most.
Dare me! ;P

Okay, how about this one? (it's technically...ish a paragraph. *nodnod*)
It's not the best text ( ... )
