I'll be finished with my bachelors degree on June 18. (Graduation is actually May 3; they let us walk then but we still have a class to finish. The last day of class is June 18.) I'm not sure what I'll be doing job-wise at that point - stay where I'm at? Look for something with better pay (and an office!)? A lot of that depends on what I do ( Read more... )

Thanks! Advice is good - but I have to make up my own mind in the end, right?

Thank you! Where did you get your MLS? I've always been under the impression you like your job - am I right? What're the drawbacks?

I do like my job. It's like any job though. Partly it depends on the organization and partly depends on the people.

I got my MLS at Emporia State University in Kansas.

The program was ok. It was really theory oriented. The physical classes were mostly on weekends. A three hour class would be Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday morning and meet two times. Online classes were online. Odd how that works.

In this economy, if you have have a good job it might be wise to keep it.

My son is considering pursuing his masters degree this fall. He, too, has many decisions to make.

I think you're right; the biggest reason for IUPUI over either of the Michigan schools is because I have a job here. Of course I could look for one in the Detroit area but they're few and far between there right now.

I'll keep your son in mind and in my prayers. All those decisions can be nerve-wracking!

Hard decisions - but what nice decisions to have to make! Well done you.

Thank you! I'm leaning toward the Indiana school just for the sake of expediency and logistics. (Wouldn't it be a laugh on me if I didn't get accepted!)
