Irish was awarded disability from Social Security on the first go-around. Whoo hoo! That takes so much mental and emotional pressure off him (he's felt, since he first became unable to work, that taking care of the house and cooking, etc., wasn't enough - felt he had to contribute financially somehow to be a good husband) and it's taken a load of ( Read more... )

Yeah, we think it's pretty cool, too.

And I voted! Got my Indiana license (which has a hideous picture *sigh*) in time to vote and I'm pretty happy with the results of the election. *g*

Yay! Welcome to the Internet! :)

Congrats on the extra money. And yeah, watching money in a savings account grow is kind of fun.

I'm glad that Irish and you are getting something out of the system that the two of you have paid into for so long.

When you come out in April let the Vegas Fen know so we can help out.

So are we!

Actually, I know the dates - we're flying out the evening of April 3 on Southwest and getting in at 10:30 Nevada time. Picking up the truck Saturday morning and hoping to leave Sunday (it's a whirlwind trip). I'll definitely say something again in the VegasFen group when the time comes.

Thank you!

April 3-5 are the dates we'll be there. I'll definitely say something again when it's closer to the time.

I'm glad the disability came through and eased your situation.

Thanks; so are we! (I'm so thankful that, even at our most broke, we always had a roof over our head and food on our table - we had wealth compared to so many others in the world. But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate having something extra!)
