R + J = LURRRVE

Saw a performance of Romeo and Juliet! And liked it! And my goal in life is now to attain some sleeve glitter and learn how to use it.

Review is under the cut, in order to avoid subjecting you to, as Peter so aptly put it, ( a total spaz all over your screen... of Shakespeare. )

Hurrah for subtext! That sounds like such fun. Minus the bad actors, anyway.

Sounds like a lovely play. I'm glad you enjoyed watching the boys. =) (besides, it may not necessarily be their fault that Romeo and Juliet have no sexual tension. Or, it may be their fault, but not their fault because they're poor actors... maybe Romeo was just gay?)

Romeo was like... asexual. >___< Mercutio did a really good job of longing for something quite invisible.

And... I dunno, I never seem to like R+J and their relationship except in movies (and, of course, when I read the play)... maybe just because in movies you can capture all the subtleties of people's expressions and stuff. So it probably wasn't their fault that they had no chemistry. It was their fault, however, that Romeo kept jumping around all the time and Juliet kept acting like a semi-whorelike bitch. :P

Hehe, sounds awesome with the subtext. I mean, that's what really matters, isn't it? Who *cares* about Romeo and Juliet. Except the Romeo create major angst for Mercutio.

Though an asexual Romeo ... so doesn't work.

Nooooo! I love Romeo and Juliet. When they're played well. They're so sweet and impetuous and I less than three them.

And yeah, it didn't. Work, that is. :P

=P Actually, I love Romeo and Juliet. As het couples go, they're pretty awesome, though I have no idea why I like them. They're just wicked fun.

And would you by any chance happen to own the Zeffirelli R&J? Because I've never actually seen it all the way through. I was going to rent it, but I keep forgetting. >__

And is there a *reason* it has to cut off the "<" at the end of a comment?
