My arm and hand still ache. They only helped with the long seams - not the ones where I needed to have close control like sewing on the ties.

I've seen pictures from the event. It looks like it went off great after all.

Many years ago I purchased a hand crank sewing machine - thinking it would be handy at camping events. When my regular sewing machine suffered a massive failure at about 10pm before our baronial investiture, we hauled that puppy out and with Rorik turning the crank I got our garb finished. We had a refreshing 2 hour nap before heading out in the morning. That machine was a terrific investment.

Sitting un-used at my brother's is my grandmother's treadle machine. For years, I begged my Mom to get it running and teach me to use it, but she never did. Boy, did I wish for that machine this weekend!
Charlie kept trying to figure out how to put a crank handle on my Bernina. I just hope I didn't damage anything.
This weekend all we could think about was why we had never gotten a generator!
