Oh, I did love that movie. This book looks very intriguing. Makes me want to dig out my DVD. I've never read any of Barker's books.
I recall you had posted previously (lost somewhere in my overflowing inbox) about the movie getting a face lift and being re-released or something. I would much prefer to see a whole new movie being made. Can you imagine how good the Midians would look with today's special effects?

I dunno. I have nostalgic attachment to the old nightbreed. I would love to see the extended `as it was supposed to be` version. Much more like the book. remakes scare me. They almost always fuck em up. Look at what theyve done to Carpenters movies!

Me too. I like old style special effects and they always do fuck up remakes. I mean look at Fright Night and the Omen. Who can come close to Lee Remick and Gregory Peck, or Chris Sarandon? Now granted some of the effects were campy but...remember that horrible scene where the kid falls off the balcony and gets impaled, and it was like you felt every single bit of his horrifying death? I almost never watch remakes. The one I did was the Amityville Horror and it wasn't too bad, but it just didn't scare me as much as the James Brolin/Margot Kidder one.

Oh yeah shit John Carpenter. I have watched THE THING at least...kid you not...300 times. And everytime I see something new or something I've missed.

The Thing was and still is the best when it comes to mutation and gore. I mean, jesus fucking christ, the dog when the dude disected it, that was fucking GROSS. they don't make em like they used to, and the Thing stands up still to modern shit in most cases. Bad-ass movie, been watching that one since it came out... i was a fuckin' toddler hahahaha

I thought you'd love it. I like the guy in there who decided he wanted to go on this ultimate drug trip and he passed out for three days and look at the result. I should have tacked that up in my substance abuse class. Or God forbid, I take too many pills in search of the elusive high and THAT'S what I turn into. There goes my stripping career.

I was beginning to worry about when it would fucking get there, but it was like 4th class mail so I figured it would take a while. It was nine bucks versus 35 for rush delivery and as much as I love ya Caz, 9 bucks was more affordable LOL.

I also have something else for you. I think you will like it also. May not get there til after Christmas though.

And yeah Grumpy Cat rules. I have a t shirt, and a mug, and a magnet and all those Christmas cards. The birthday card says inside " REMEMBER WHEN I GAVE A SHIT? I DON'T EITHER."
