I am still utterly devastated from the first two episodes of Supernatural. I was so hoping John wouldn't die! Sam and Dean's pain -- okay, especially Dean's -- is just killing me. *sniff*

Glad you liked that line. The first draft (that I wrote on successive morning bus commutes) just left it at the "could have hugged him" line. Then I reread and thought "that's SO not Dean! Must change now!"

But yes, enthusiastic Sammy! He couldn't have always been mopy and argumentative, right? Though this season I'm really liking Sammy more and more, 'cause he's taking care of his big brother. *pets Sammy*

Hee! Well, hopefully the next chapter will help.

Frankly I'm kind of amazed at how this story's gone. When I started, I thought it'd be like 5 chapters max. Now it's going to be 10!
