Find a new job first? Quitting, in my opinion, is only worth it if you don't have to panic afterwards. And a few more weeks, (hopefully at most) aren't a huge sacrifice in the long run.

Good luck with the search.

Er. I meant good luck with the decision.

I agree with finding a new job first... although if the lack of a job is the kick in the ass you need to get you moving into something you'd rather be doing, then maybe you need the push. :)

1) money comes and goes. happiness is more important.
2) travel is on everyone's list. if not now, you'll do it later - unless it's more of a priority than finding a different work that you love...
3) your coworkers will survive. you cannot be replaced, but your position can be refilled.

i actually have quite a bit saved, so ill be okay and able to pay rent and such for at least a few months, even if nothing at all came along. so i dont have to panic, but i cant be lackadaisical either. (thats a hard word to spell!)

its pretty scary, but most of the better decisions in my life have entailed a certain amount of risk, and most have the worst have involved doing what is safe and reasonable.

if you know any bilinguals looking for full-time employment, i can hook them up....

I'm also suggesting finding some work first... they say it's always easier to find a job when you have one already. That may not apply so much going from what you're doing to film work, but I'm figuring that you'll have cash flow while you find your first bits in film, and hopefully that will lead to more.

There's actually a guy in my class right now who came from film props. If you'd like, I'll ask if he's able to help you make any useful connections.

well, right now im still working for kaplan, and im on another contract that ends at the end of the month. im applying to a few others that i think i have a reasonably good chance of getting, in addition to looking into the film stuff. and i can always go back to loomis for a while if i really have to. i also have some money saved from this job, so i know i wont be broke for a few months, anyway.

any connections are good connections, i appreciate it.

i think you were happier at lumis. at least there you hung out with the other workers outside of work, which means that the people where pretty cool.

whatever happened with the ROM job you applied for?

if you want to work in film, i can get you a job doing the pilon watching thing. at least you can make $13 an hour and you can write a grant while you do that, or draw, or read.

yeah, i definitely liked the people at loomis better. i just wish it paid about 3x as much.

apps for the ROMand the other one (which i applied to anyway, just in case) were only due last friday and yeasterday, so i wont hear back til at least the end of the week probly. but i keep asking myself the same thing. seems like its been so long already.

its funny how much time seems to slow down when ive made a decision and im trying to implement it. i decide something last week and im like why isnt this taken care of by now? i know what needs to happen so it should just be done already. but really, i think everything will pan out.

um, my manager wasnt in yesterday. so im trying to decide if i should just email her my demands, or wait til im in again friday. i think email now. that way i cant be swayed, and she knows earlier. yeah, if i wait its just going to get dragged out longer.
