A search on google for "humane pigeon deterrent" returned some interesting results.

Most advise the use of spikes (prevents the animals from landing on a surface) or netting to prevent them from entering in the first place. I was hoping for something more discreet like some kind of sound thing that only pigeons could hear or something, but no such luck.
