I find it interesting that Obama was being considered a great president before he even took office. I suppose this is because we now have such low standards as to what it takes to be a good leader, considering that this country (as well as the rest of the universe) had to survive eight years with a son of a Bush. I think he shows promise. I'm not buying into the huge hype that's been built up around him, but I am cautiously optimistic. After the past eight years, I think people need to believe in a hero, but I'll settle for believing that, while there won't be gold coins falling from the sky and sunshine for everyone and unicorns shitting rainbows on Wall Street, things will improve. Obama's shown the right attitude, and a willingness to wade right in and start making changes.

He's got a lot of work to do, and you're absolutely right, he's the first, and has a lot to live up to.

Unfortunately, my parents both hate him. :x
