Cars and oil consumption

I was sitting in a park in Providence (capital of Rhode Island for those who are geographically challenged) with one of the residents that we support (I'm a direct support staff for behaviourally challenged mentally handicapped people) when I started counting the number of cars that drove past with only one person in them. Alternative fuel sources won't come into play anytime soon because they aren't profitable. Big oil companies, and Dubbaya, have a vested interest in making sure that we don't switch to corn-powered cars.

I read something that said we have nowhere near the arable land capacity needed for large scale ethanol production. So you're right on that count.

I told Mikey...we need to either live somewhere where we can walk to the stores we need to go to often....OR, we live far away from everyone and either trek to the stores once a month, or have stuff shipped in.

And I'm all about hoarding. :P
