Disallowing STD vaccines in favor of abstinence--monstrous.

A bit outdated, this was written on the 10th of November, but that's only 6 days ago.

Possible cure for cervical cancer should not be given to young people because this discourages abstinence. Appropriate response: WTF?

I think the article writer hit it on the nail when she said:

This vaccine would have to be given to preteens before they are ( Read more... )

Or is sexual intercourse not allowed to be pleasurable, but simply a means to achieve children?

You've hit the nail on the head, unfortunately.

*Blank stare* Let's not give a vaccine that could save lives to children, because if we don't, they won't have sex! *Walks out, shaking his head* RI-FUCKING-COCK-ULOUS!

As much as I feel that people who do the crime should do the time(you know that ol' saying), I don't think this is justifying anything. at. all. How does this teach children? Seriously, is this showing a good example? Gods. I don't know what else to say, really. This is incredibly idiotic. Way to go, America(yes, I'm assuming this is just occuring in The United States. What other country has such a fucked up view, after all?).

I couldn't agree more.

I don't see how it sends the wrong message in any case... it's just another vaccine on a list of them we're required to get for school. If preteens are supposed to get it, they're probably not going to have any more idea of what "cervical cancer" is than say any other diseases they get vaccinated for.

I'm so moving out of America.
