I had enjoyed James Spader's performance in the tv series "The Blacklist" so got ahold of "Secretary" to watch when I had time. Goodness, that'll teach me to not look up plots ahead of time. From what I've heard, 50 Shades started off as a Twilight AU. It's entirely possible ahe borrowed from Secretary too.

Yeah I heard she wrote fanfiction using Twilight characters which would have been fine if she had written the plot herself. But it looks like she lifted the plot of "Secretary" then inserted Twilight characters. Very little was hers it seems.
