Maybe you should have a go at one of the jobs mom suggested... not that i'm siding with her or anything but, from my experience, you shouldn't rule out jobs due to disinterest. I never would have been a C.N.A., car salesperson, security guard, or in child care if I hadn't looked into jobs I had no interest in. And all those jobs turned out to be interesting once I tried them.

On the other subject... it's just rude to make the grandparents move. I mean young couples can find work elsewere easier than little old people can move all their belongings half way across the country.

Ugh, ugh, ugh. The family stuff sounds toxic, and it is completely unreasonable for McDonald's to refuse to give you a schedule, especially when your requests are so reasonable. It's not like you want Saturdays off or anything. Jerks. I hope it gets better for you!
