Yay I got the second draft of my bigbang done this weekend! That was all I did on Saturday, literally - took a hacksaw to what I'd already written and finally wrapped it up in a way that I was satisfied with. Took out the chimera aspect - it's still a little more busy than I'd like but it ended up being 36k. I took out almost 20k of words, god-damn

I've never seen the anime of Bokurano, and all I know about it is that it diverged a lot from the manga (which I have read), and the creator got all mad because the director of the anime was trying to do something different, and...yeah, artistic-differences flailing ensued.

Wasn't that big on the manga (it was too bleak even for my oft-bleak sensibilities), but I might like the anime. At any rate, I do have a thing for deconstructions, and Madoka intrigues me from the bits and pieces of it I've seen.

I never read the manga for Bokurano, the anime gutted me completely. I didn't know anything about the artistic differences because it wasn't a ... hm, I guess "fandom friendly" is a good term, show. There's nothing extra to add to the canon for me, so I just moved on.

I am particularly excited about Madoka, so I hope it lives up to my expectations.
