Well, I don't know if I'm NOT being gratuitous-- I think my whole thing is, when I'm being gratuitous by having acharacter do something or adding some exploitation or genre element (nudity or monster, for example), I try to at least make it seem like there's a reason in the situation for why it's happening.
So, how many screenplays or plays have you written now (at least in a first draft version)?
Because, I've yet to finish anything! The story of my life!
Although, I tend to find it super easy to make comments about OTHER people's material, so this is my comeuppance. Although, I think it's helping that I'm re-writing from a synopsis, although I'm diverging quite a bit.
